My work is
based on landscapes with attention placed on formal issues such as
line, pattern, ryhthm,light and color.
The mood
and heightened sense of space is more important than any realism.
Drawing
and watercolor painting on site helps me to respond fluidly to
information that would otherwise be missed. In the studio I expand and
elaborate on these themes on large oil paintings.

A graduate
of the Slade School of Fine Art, Rachel has exhibited over 20 times
throughout the UK.
| In Los
Angeles she became one of the most sought after Production
Designers for Music Video and has many distinguished credits to her
name (she has worked with the Stones, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson
and shot all over the globe). You can see her reel here.

Over the last few years she has devoted more time to her landscape
painting with many excursions through California and Wales in which she
painted and photographically documented formal components of terrain.
She recently founded an art discussion and criticism group, bringing
together a number of prominent LA artists.
Rachel has taught fine art at Canterbury College of Art and Design and
at Carmarthen College of Art.
Rachel paints from her studio in Topanga Canyon, California.
